FAQ´S

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you still have questions before we dive in together? Here, we have summarized the most important answers regarding your diving vacation with us, so you can plan everything in total relaxation.

Bookings & Cancellations

What happens if the weather prevents a dive?

Safety is our top priority. Should we (the Dive Center) decide that a dive cannot be carried out safely due to conditions (storm, extreme currents, visibility), we will try to reschedule the appointment or find an alternative site. If no replacement is possible, you will receive a full refund for that dive.

If we are already at the dive site by boat or car and you have to abort the dive during the descent, we will charge for the dive as normal, as the costs (logistics, guide, space on the boat) have already been incurred. However, we will of course give you tips and try to take it especially slow on the next dive!

Since we dive in small groups and schedule our instructors, equipment, and drivers specifically for you, we kindly ask for a cancellation as early as possible.

If you cancel by 6:00 PM the day before, we charge a fee of 30% or reschedule the day for free.

For cancellations after 6:00 PM the day before, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.

Just let us know as early as possible (preferably via WhatsApp) so we can react flexibly!

We want you to enjoy your vacation flexibly. If you are unable to use your booked package in full for health or personal reasons, we will simply downgrade you to the appropriate smaller package or individual dives during the final billing. You only pay for what you actually dove (the unit price per dive may change slightly as a result).

Yes! If you cannot dive yourself but have someone who can take your place, that's no problem. The person simply needs to meet the necessary certifications and medical fitness requirements for diving.

Before heading into the water, you will fill out a standardized medical questionnaire (PADI Medical Statement) with us. If you can answer "No" to all the questions, you do not need a medical certificate. If you have to answer "Yes" to a question (e.g., due to asthma or recent surgeries), we will require a "fit to dive" certificate from a doctor. If you are unsure, it is best to get in touch with us before your vacation.

Dive Courses

How does the e-learning work?

The process for your theory training is very simple:

  1. Booking & Sending Details: You book the course with us in advance and provide us with your full name, date of birth, and email address.

  2. Deposit & Activation: As soon as we have received your deposit, we will unlock your digital PADI learning materials for you immediately.

  3. Download App & Learn: You download the free PADI app, log in with your email address, and can immediately start the theory portion from the comfort of your home!

Yes. In order to unlock the PADI e-Learning code for you, we require a 50% deposit in advance to cover the costs of the PADI materials and to reserve your spot. The remaining balance for the course can be paid comfortably on-site at our dive center.

No stress, safety and well-being come first. If you realize after the first day in the water (pool/shallow water) that it’s not for you, we won’t force you into anything. In this case, you only pay for the PADI e-Learning and the day you completed. We will refund the remaining balance of the course or simply won't charge you for it at all.

There is no time pressure and no mass operation with us. Because we train in very small groups, we can cater individually to your learning pace. If an exercise doesn't work out right away, we simply take the time you need until you feel 100% confident.

General

What water temperatures can I expect in Amed?

The water here is pleasantly warm year-round, ranging from 27 to 29 degrees. A 3mm wetsuit (shorty or long) is absolutely perfect for these conditions. If you don't have your own, we will, of course, provide one for you.

Relaxed and stress-free! We meet at the dive center around 8:00 AM for an equipment check and briefing. Our driver then takes us to the spots for two morning dives. During the break, we provide you with snacks and drinks. By early afternoon, we are back at the base for lunch, washing the equipment, and filling out our logbooks together.

We dive in small groups of a maximum of 3 to 4 divers per guide or instructor. This allows us to focus on you individually and show you the best spots in a completely relaxed atmosphere.

We recommend specific diving insurance (e.g., DAN or aqua med), unless your standard international health insurance explicitly covers diving accidents. It's best to double-check your policy before your vacation—better safe than sorry!
